Thomas Arias ( Spanish: Tomás Arias , December 29, 1856 - July 20, 1932 ) was a Colombian and Panamanian politician.

Biography
Born in 1856 in the city of Panama , his parents were Ramon Arias Faraud and Manuela Avila. He studied at home, as well as in Jamaica and in the United States . Represented the Department of Panama in the Colombian Congress in 1888-1892, in 1893-1900 was the Secretary of State of Colombia. When Panama separated from Colombia , the Provisional Ruling Junta of Panama was elected, consisting of José Agustín Arango , Federico Boyd and Thomas Arias.
After the formation of state institutions of the new state was the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Ambassador of Panama in Mexico, the head of the National Assembly.
