Biography
Damir Mulaomerovich was born on September 19, 1974 in the city of Tuzla , the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (now Bosnia and Herzegovina ).
He started his sports career at the age of sixteen in the local basketball club "Sloboda Dita", played there for four years, in 1994 became the owner of the Cup of Bosnia. Because of the outbreak of the Bosnian war, he was forced to flee to Croatia, where he joined the Zibona team of Zibona , in which he repeatedly won the A1 League and the Kresimir осosic Cup , the country's main basketball tournaments.
As a Bosnian, Mulaomerovic wanted to get into the newly formed national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina , but the team did not consider him a very promising player and did not invite to the team, so he eventually accepted Croatian citizenship and began playing for Croatia , where he was invited by head coach Petar Skansi . In particular, together with the Croats, he played at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta - took third place in Group A, then in the quarterfinals with a score of 71:73 lost to the Australian team (in addition, the Croats lost to Brazil in the consolation matches and won final seventh place). Subsequently, for many years he represented Croatia at various international tournaments, participated in four European championships , although he did not achieve significant success in the national team.
At the club level in the period 1998-1999, Mulaomerovich played for the Italian " Fortitude ", with which he won the Italian Cup, then went to the site for three seasons in the colors of the Turkish club " Efes Pilsen ", with which he won the Turkish Cup. One of the most successful seasons in his sports career was the 2001/2002 season in the Greek Panathinaikos , which won the Euroleague .
Later Damir Mulaomerovich often changed clubs, so in a rather short period of time he managed to visit Spanish Real Madrid (2002-2003), Greek PAOK (2003-2005), Panellinios (2005-2006), Olympiacos (2006–2007). Anyway, it is with the Greek championships that his main achievements are connected, he was repeatedly recognized as the best player of the teams in terms of assists and scored points. In 2008, he returned to Cibona, where he planned to end his career, but then spent another season in PAOK and finally joined another Croatian club Zagreb , with which he again became the champion of the country and the winner of the Croatian Cup. In 2012, he officially announced the end of his career as a professional athlete.
After completing his sports career, Mulaomerovich went to coaching. In the period 2013–2015, he headed the Bosnian home team “Sloboda Dita”, starting from 2015 he has been the head coach of the Zagreb “Cibona” [1] .
