Merab Alekseevich Partskhaladze ( Georgian მერაბ ალექსის ძე ფარცხალაძე ; December 15, 1924 , Tiflis, Georgian SSR , now Tbilisi , Georgia - February 14, 2008 ) - Georgian and Russian composer and teacher. People's Artist of the RSFSR ( 1986 ).

Biography
Born in the family of composer Alexei Partskhaladze (1897-1972) and music teacher Maria Zakharovna. He was a member of the Great Patriotic War . In 1947-1950 he studied at the Tbilisi Conservatory with Sergei Barkhudaryan (composition). In 1953 he graduated from the Moscow Conservatory with Semyon Bogatyrev (composition) and in 1957, he also completed graduate school. In 1953-1957 he was a teacher at the Moscow Choral School. In 1957-1974 - head of the editorial office of the publishing house " Music ". He wrote music for performances and films. Member of the CPSU in 1946-1991.
