Biography

Born on February 15, 1979 in the city of Almalyk, Tashkent region of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the family of employees. Baptized in the Church of the Assumption of the Mother of God in Almalyk in 1990

In 1986-1996 he studied at the secondary school number 11 of the city of Almalyk.

In 1996-1998 he studied at the Inter-Diocesan Theological School of Tashkent.

In 1998 he moved to Velikiy Novgorod , from where, with the blessing of the archbishop of Novgorod and Starorussky Lev (Tserpitsky), he was sent to study at the St. Petersburg Theological Seminary , where he graduated a year and continued his studies at the St. Petersburg Theological Academy. In 2005, after graduating from the Academy, he was sent to the Novgorod diocese .

On June 20, 2005, he was ordained deacon in the St. George Cathedral of St. George Monastery in Veliky Novgorod by the Archbishop of Novgorod the Lion.

June 21, enrolled in the fraternity St. George Monastery; On June 27, Archbishop Leo was tonsured a monk at Holy Cross Cathedral of St. George Monastery.

On July 1, in the Varlaamo-Khutynsky monastery, Archbishop Leo ordained hieromonk .

On September 1, 2005, he was appointed a teacher of the subjects “Church History” and “Patrology” at the Novgorod Spiritual School .

On November 23, 2006 he was appointed inspector of the Novgorod Theological School.

On June 1, 2008 he was appointed Acting Governor of the Yuriev Monastery.

On April 16, 2016, by the decision of the Holy Synod, he was elected Bishop of Yuryevsk, Vicar of the Novgorod Diocese [1] .

On April 21, 2016, in the Sofia Cathedral of Veliky Novgorod, Metropolitan of Novgorod and Starorussky Lev was elevated to the rank of archimandrite [2] .

On April 23, 2016, in the Throne Room of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow, Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia headed the order of the naming of Archimandrite Arseny (Perevalov) as Bishop of Yuryevsk, Vicar of the Novgorod Diocese [3] .

On May 3, 2016, Archimandrite Arseny (Perevalov) was consecrated Bishop of Yuryevsk, Vicar of the Novgorod Diocese [4] .
