Plectrumelectrum is the thirty-sixth studio album of the American singer Prince , released on September 30, 2014 via NPG Records and Warner Bros. The disc was released simultaneously with the m Art Official Age album and received positive reviews from music critics and online publications. Plectrumelectrum reached number one on the Top Rock Albums (Billboard), eleventh in the UK charts and was No. 8 on the Billboard 200 in the US [1] .

About the album

According to Randall Roberts of the Los Angeles Times , Plectrumelectrum is a rock album with lyrics and sound effects with Prince’s “noble strangeness” and “sense of humor” [7] . The album received both positive reviews from music critics and online publications [1] [3] [4] , and moderate [7] [10] . The disc debuted in eighth place on the US Billboard 200 chart with 26,000 copies in its first week. [11] In the second week of release there were only 7,000 copies and it dropped to position No. 47 (the total circulation was 33,000 copies) [12] .
