Etymology

Skeleton reconstruction

The name comes from the name of the bird from the folklore of China and the ancient Greek word “πτερυξ” - “wing”.

Description

Jinfengopteryx is known for the holotype CAGS-IG-04-0801. The remains preserved many prints of feathers, but on the leg bones there were no feathers of feathers that were found in other troodontids, for example, anchornis . Among the residues, seeds were found [1] , which indicates that it could be herbivorous [2] .
