Frunze Bridge - a road bridge under construction in Samara , will cross the river of the same name near the Khlebnaya Square . The bridge will connect two districts of the city - Samarsky and Kuibyshevsky - and connect the streets Frunze and Shosseinaya.

Content
Design
After the construction is completed, the steel-reinforced concrete bridge will have six-lane traffic (3 lanes in each direction) and will become an alternative to the Old Bridge, which has dilapidated, has only two lanes and can not cope with the ever-increasing traffic flow.
In addition to the bridge itself, a kilometer-long entrance from Shosseinaya and transport interchanges on the connected streets will be built. A bridge across Lake Bannoye and an overpass at the junction of the exit onto Shosseinaya Street [2] .
Construction
Construction began in November 2015 [3] [4] , it is planned to be completed in 2019 [5] [6] . Construction is being carried out by Stroytransgaz OJSC [7] , and there were no competitors when submitting the application: Stroytransgaz was the only bidder [8] . The total cost of the work is estimated at 12.3 billion rubles [1] . Financing is provided from the regional and federal budgets [9] [10] .
According to the Minister of Transport of the Samara Region Ivan Pivkin, all concrete and asphalt concrete for the bridge is produced in the Samara Region, and the sand necessary for construction is also washed by local companies in quarries along the banks of the Volga and Samara rivers; high-strength Ural gravel is also used [11] .
History
The construction of a new bridge across Samara was discussed back in 2007 [12] . The design of the first stage passed the state examination [13] and was completed in 2013 [14] . In the dreams of the governor of the Samara region Nikolai Merkushkin, the Kirovsky and Frunzensky bridges will be connected by the embankment [18] .
The initial project provided that the bridge was supposed to start from Samarskaya Street. The initial price of the contract, according to auction documentation, is 12.81 billion rubles.
