Biography

Born October 29, 1970 in the city of Nepin, Canada's Ontario.

Player Career

After his first season at Cornell Big Hockey, the Cornell Big Red Hockey Team, Town Hall was chosen 25th overall in the 1989 NHL Draft by the Winnipeg Jets team. He spent two more seasons on the Cornell Cornell team and was named the All-American Athlete by the Eastern College Athletic Conference ( ECAC ) in 1990 and 1991. Represented Canada in 1990 at the World Youth Hockey Championship , winning a gold medal.

He participated in the 1992 Olympic Games in Albertville, France, where he won a silver award with the team. In the 1991/92 season, he played in Switzerland at the EHC Olten club in Olten . For the 1992/93 season, a contract was signed with Fort Wayne Komets of the International Hockey League ( IHL ). Then it was bought by the Vancouver Canucks club, for which it spent only one match.

From 1993 to 1999, Dan Town Hall played in the IHL and the American Hockey League , after which he continued his career abroad - in Japan, Finland, the UK and Sweden. In 1997, he graduated from Cornell University with a bachelor's degree in economics. In 2003, he received a master's degree from the Strathclyde Business School and the University of Ottawa Law School in 2006.

Career Coach

While studying in Ottawa, Ratushny worked as an assistant coach for the university's hockey team in 2004-2005. From 2006 to 2009, he worked as a lawyer at the Canadian law firm Stikeman Elliott in Toronto .

From 2009 to 2011 Dan Ratushny thoroughly engaged in coaching - he was the head coach of the EHC Olten team of the Swiss National League B , in which he previously played. In 2011, he became the head coach of the Straubing Tigers team in the German Hockey League , which in the 2011/12 season, led to the semifinal stage of the playoffs and was named the coach of the year of the German Hockey League. Then, in 2014, he signed a contract with the Salzburg Red Bull hockey team of the Austrian Hockey League and at the same time was appointed head coach of the Austrian hockey team. [1] The Town Hall led the Red Bull to the championship title in the 2013/14 season and repeated the same success the following year. [2]
