The publication was issued in the scientific and publishing complex " Bashkir Encyclopedia " of the city of Ufa, includes about 1900 articles, more than 500 illustrations [1] [2] . The encyclopedia contains information about geography, history, economics, education, culture of the city of Ishimbay and the Ishimbay region, its prominent figures [1] . The main place in the encyclopedia is given to the city of Ishimbay [1] .
Description
The 656-page encyclopedia includes about 500 illustrations.
Encyclopedia consists of two parts. The first presents an essay on geography, history, economics, education, culture of the city of Ishimbay and the Ishimbay region [2] . The second part consists of more than 1900 conceptual and biographical articles, as well as more than 500 illustrations [2] . About 1200 articles of a bibliographic nature, telling about famous people of the city and the region, its inhabitants and natives [2] . These are scientists, writers, poets, public figures, Heroes of the Soviet Union, Heroes of Socialist Labor, gentlemen of the Orders of Lenin, the Red Banner of Labor, the Orders of the October Revolution, the Badge of Honor, Labor Glory and others. A significant place in the publication is given to the industrial enterprises of the city, history development of oil production in the city and the region.
The reference part includes a bibliographic index, lists of abbreviations and abbreviations, candidates of sciences, students of education and health, honorary workers of education [2] .
The Ishimbay Encyclopedia was one of the first to publish the results of a study of the history of the disappeared villages and villages of Bashkortostan, conducted by employees of the NIK Bashkir Encyclopedia [3] . The Baimak Encyclopedia included 65 such items, the Abzelil Encyclopedia more than 30, the Ishimbay Encyclopedia more than 40, the Khaibullin Encyclopedia more than 30, and 12 articles were included in the Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat encyclopedia.

The publication was worked by employees of the Bashkir Encyclopedia research and publishing complex, composed of the general director U. G. Saitov and his first deputy K. I. Agliullina [4] . Copyright on the compilation and design of the encyclopedia belongs to the NIK "Bashkir Encyclopedia" [4] .
