Biography
Jan Nicola Berti was born in August 1960 in the capital of San Marino. He is the brother of the director and former captain regent of San Marino, Maria Louise Bertie . He is a notary and a lawyer by profession. Their father, Jan Luigi Berti, also served as captain-regent of San Marino from 1993-1994 .
Since childhood, he became interested in shooting at the bench . He has performed at many international competitions. He represented his country at the Olympic Games in Seoul in 1988 , where he took the 33rd place. In 1987, he became a bench shooting champion at the games of small European states [3] and vice-champion of the Mediterranean Games [4] . Participated in the world championships ( 1994 , 1995 ), Europe ( 1994 , 1996 , 2000 ), World Cup stages. Then he went to coaching. Among his wards there are medalists of the Mediterranean games and the games of small states of Europe.
In March 2016, from the movement “We are Sanmarins”, he was elected to the post of captain-regent together with Massimo Andrea Ugolini for the period from April 1 to October 1, 2016.
