History
The canton was formed as a result of the reform of 2015 [1] by combining the abolished cantons of Bakville-en-Co , Longville-sur-Si , Thoth and the three communes of the canton of Pavia .

Policy
In the 2017 presidential election, the canton residents cast in the 1st round of Marin Le Pen 32.9% of the vote against 19.0% of Francois Fillon , 18.3% of Emmanuel Macron and 15.7% of Jean-Luc Melanson ; in the 2nd round, Le Pen won the canton, receiving 50.4% of the vote. (2012 1st round: Francois Hollande - 27.9%, Nicolas Sarkozy - 27.7%, Marine Le Pen - 22.2%; 2nd round: Hollande - 51.0%. 2007 1st round: Sarkozy - 29.8%, Segolen Royal - 23.9%; 2nd round: Sarkozy - 51.9%).
Since 2015, the canton has been represented on the Council of the Seaside Department by the mayor of the commune of Le Bois-Robert Chantal Cottereau ( Union of Democrats and Independents ) and the mayor of the city of Lunre, Martial Hauguel ( Miscellaneous right ).
