Biography

Giovanni was supposedly born at the beginning of the 13th century in Pavia. He was a representative of a noble family of Beccaria. Father Giovanni Murro Beccaria was the national captain of Pavia and led the party of gibellines in this city. Father died in 1259 and Giovanni was promoted to the national captain of Pavia [1] . As captain of the people, he actually became Signor Pavia. All the time of his reign passed in the fight against the Milanese Guelphs, the most famous of which was the genus Della Torre . After his death, between 1279 and 1282, he was inherited by his son Musso.
