History
In 2001, the list of the “Daisy” campaign coalition in the elections to the Chamber of Deputies received the support of 14.52% of voters, which provided it with 27 deputy seats [1] . Initially, the “Daisies” faction included 75 deputies, from July 18 to August 1, 2001 its number reached its maximum size - 84 deputies [2] .
The Daisy party was founded in 2002, the leader throughout its history was Francesco Rutelli . It united left-wing Christian democrats, centrists (former liberals and republicans). The largest parties on the basis of which the "Daisy" was formed were the IPP , Democrats and the Italian Renewal .
The party joined the Oliva coalition in 2002, and the Union in 2005. At the European level, it was a member of the European Democratic Party .
In the 2006 Senate election, “Daisy” received 10.73% of the vote and 39 out of 315 seats [3] .
In 2007, she joined the Democratic Party .
On May 2, 2014, the former Daisy Treasurer sentenced by the court to 8 years in prison for the misappropriation of 25 million euros from party funds. He was also found guilty of defaming Francesco Rutelli, whom he accused of involvement in his criminal acts, but this case should be considered in civil proceedings [4] .
