Biography
Born in Genoa in 1599 . His family came from the vicinity of Framura , his great-grandfather Joaquino da Passano visited the courts of Francis I and Henry VIII of England, and also served as the Ambassador of Genoa to Rome .
Adolescence and youth Antonio is not marked by chronicles, most likely, he served in the Bank of San Giorgio. He received his first public office only at the age of about 50, when he took up the post of commissioner in Corsica (to verify the results of the work of the former governor and Doge Cesare Durazzo ) and in Capraia . He was then elected Senator of the Republic.
He was elected doge on July 11, 1675 , 123rd in the history of Genoa, becoming simultaneously king of Corsica. Among his initiatives should be noted a confrontation with the Senate over the sending of galleys, without the permission of the Doge, to track down the Turkish ship, which threatened the Ligurian coast. July 11, 1677 completed his mandate, after which he continued to serve the Republic.
He died in Genoa in 1681 and was buried in the church of Santo Stefano.
