Biography
Born April 16, 1936 in the village. Rudne-Grabovka Korostyshevsky district of Zhytomyr region. After graduating from a seven-year school in 1954, he entered the naval aviation technical school. In 1957-1959 - served as an officer in the Pacific Fleet. Demobilized, he worked as a teacher in the Kostroma region (1959-1961). In 1961 he entered the philosophical department of the historical and philosophical faculty of Kiev University. As a third-year student, he began to read a special course on Hegel's aesthetics.
After graduating from university in 1966, he was an assistant in the department of ethics and aesthetics. He worked at this department all his life: senior teacher, associate professor, professor. The student group on aesthetics led by him, whose members successfully spoke at scientific conferences in various cities of the Soviet Union, enjoyed great success. A unique phenomenon was the philosophical circle organized by him at the university for high school students of Kiev schools.
In 1969 he defended his thesis. The supervisor of the dissertation of A.S. Kanarsky was a famous philosopher, one of the best Soviet specialists in the field of materialist dialectics V.A. Bosenko . This defense became a resonant event in the Kiev philosophical environment. One of the official opponents of this defense was the most famous Soviet philosopher-Marxist E.V. Ilyenkov . He also wrote the preface to the book "Dialectics of the aesthetic process." In 1983, A. S. Kanarsky defended his doctoral dissertation.
The works of A.S. Kanarsky made a real revolution in aesthetic science, which, under the influence of positivism that prevailed at that time, began to turn, on the one hand, into something like general art criticism, and on the other, into a theoretical justification for design. A. S. Kanarsky restored the rights of classical aesthetics as logic, dialectics and the theory of cognition of the human sensory sphere.
In October 1984, he went on a scientific trip to Poland to give lectures on aesthetics. A.S. Kanarsky suddenly died on December 28, 1984 in Warsaw. He was buried at the Bike cemetery.
Spouse and like-minded A.S. Kanarsky - Doctor of Philosophy, prof. I.A. Bondarchuk.
