Biography
In the years 1929-1933 he studied at the Faculty of Philology of the University of Vytautas the Great . In 1939, he graduated from the Kaunas Conservatory in oboe (Paulius Schuberto) and military conducting ( ). In 1935-1954 he worked in the symphony orchestras of the radio , philharmonic and the Lithuanian Opera and Ballet Theater . Since 1945, he taught at the Vilnius Conservatory , since 1953 - the head of the department of music history, since 1965 - professor. Member of the CPSU since 1958.
