Gonzalez was born in the United States , into a family of Mexican immigrants.
Content
Club career
Gonzalez is a graduate of the Dallas Club. In March 2013, he signed a professional contract with the team, becoming the tenth homegrown football player to sign an agreement with the club [1] . On August 23, 2015, in a match against the Canadian Vancouver Whitecaps , Jesse made his MLS debut [2] . In the same year, Gonzalez, on loan, played for the Pittsburgh Rivershounds [3] .
International Career
In 2015, Gonzalez was included in the application for the Mexican youth team to participate in the CONCACAF Youth Championship in Jamaica . At the tournament, he played in matches against the youth teams of Cuba [4] , Canada [5] , Honduras [6] , El Salvador [7] and Panama [8] . According to the results of the competition, Jesse became their winner.
In the summer of that year, Gonzalez took part in the youth world championships in New Zealand . In the tournament, he played in matches against Uruguay [9] and Serbia [10] .
On March 25, 2016, Gonzalez played his first match for the Mexican Olympic team , having entered the field in the second half of the pre-Olympic friendly match with the Japanese team [11] .
Gonzalez previously several times announced his desire to play for the Mexican national team [12] [13] . However, in June 2017, it became known that he submitted documents to FIFA regarding permission to speak for the US team [14] . On June 29, the US Football Federation announced that Gonzalez had received permission to change football citizenship [15] . On July 16, Gonzalez was added to the US national team at the CONCACAF 2017 Gold Cup before the playoff stage [16] .
In 2017, Gonzalez won the CONCACAF Gold Cup . At the tournament he was a substitute and did not enter the field.
