Biography
He studied in 1932-1937 at the Prague Conservatory under (composition) and in 1937-1939 - at Vitezslav Novák at the School of Excellence (composition), in 1932-1937 at Charles University - at Zdenek Needly (musicology and musical aesthetics). From 1939, he was a teacher at the Pedagogical Institute in Presov , from 1944 - from the University of Bratislava , from 1963 - professor and head of the department of musicology. In 1956-1964 - Director of the Institute of Musicology of the Slovak Academy of Sciences.
