Oxyscelio cavinetrion (lat.) - a species of platygastroid riders from the subfamily Scelioninae ( Platygastridae , or Scelionidae , according to other classifications). Oriental area : Philippines , Basilan , Basilan Island ^[1] .

Description

Small hymenopteran insects: body length 3.3-3.5 mm. Antenna of females with a mace. It features a developed occipital keel. Metascutellum smooth and concave. The body is mostly brownish black. Scape of antennae and legs yellowish. Antennae 12-segmented. The mandibular palps consist of 4 segments, and the labial palps are 2-segmented. In the fore wing, the submarginal vein is distant from the margin and has a very short marginal vein. There is a characteristic frontal depression on the head. The species was first described in 2013 by the American entomologist Roger Barks ( Roger A. Burks , Department of Evolution, Ecology, and Organismal Biology, The Ohio State University, Columbus , Ohio , USA ) ^[1] ^[2] .
