Biography
Born November 14, 1948 in Moscow .
He graduated from the MEPhI , specialty: “Experimental Nuclear Physics” (1972).
He worked at the Institute of Atomic Energy named after I. Kurchatov as an engineer, senior engineer, senior researcher.
From 1990 to 1991 - work in the State Committee on Science and Technology of the USSR .
From 1992 to 2000 - Head of the Department of Physics and Energy Programs and Space Research, Deputy Head of the Department of Basic Research of the Ministry of Science of Russia .
From 1992 to 1994 - concurrently served as executive secretary of the Russian Foundation for Basic Research .
From 2000 to 2001 - Deputy Head of the Department of Fundamental and Exploratory Research at the Ministry of Industry and Science of Russia .
From 2001 to 2004 - Head of the Department of Fundamental and Exploratory Research in the field of natural and human sciences.
From 2004 to 2005 - Head of the Department of Fundamental and Applied Research of the Federal Agency for Science and Innovations of the Russian Federation .
From 2005 to 2010 - Deputy Director of the Russian Foundation for Basic Research .
Since June 2010 - Director of the Russian Humanitarian Scientific Foundation .
Consisted of the Council for the award of prizes of the Government of the Russian Federation in the field of science and technology [1] .
Member of the Board of the Parliamentary Center "High Technologies, Intellectual Property" at the State Duma of Russia [2] .
Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, author of more than 50 scientific papers.
Awards
- Prize named after academician I. V. Kurchatov
- The L. A. Artsimovich Prize (together with N. N. Brevnov , A. M. Stefanovsky , 2004) for the series of works “Experimental Studies of Plasma in Ring Tokamaks”
- The Prize of the Government of the Russian Federation in the field of science and technology (2002) - for the development and introduction of technical means, standards and systems for ensuring the uniformity of measurements of the parameters of ultrashort electromagnetic radiation pulses.
