Club career

Stefan started playing football in the Zekirchen children team. In 2006, he joined the youth team Red Bull Salzburg .

On April 16, 2010, Liner made his debut for the second Salzburg team [1] . In the 2010/11 season, Stefan became the player of the main Anif team, with whom he became the winner of the Regional League - West . In the summer of 2011, the defender was leased for one year at the Grödig . On July 12, Stefan spent the first game in the new team, leaving the starting lineup for the game with “ Austria ” [2] . Ten days later, Liner marked the first goal scored [3] .

Before the start of the 2012/13 season, the defender returned to Salzburg, and in order to get playing practice, he played for the Red Bull, Lifering farm club. For two seasons, Liner took part in 62 games and scored 3 goals.

In the spring of 2014, Stefan signed a contract with Reed , who played in the Austrian Bundesliga [4] . The defender spent his debut match in the top football division of Austria on July 19, 2014 against Wiener Neustadt [5] .

A year later, Stefan returned to the Red Bull [6] . On August 27, Stefan made his European debut in a meeting of the Champions League qualifying round against the Swedish Malmö [7] , and on August 8 he made his first appearance in the starting lineup of the Salzburgers in the championship [8] .

Team Career

The liner from 2006 to 2010 played for the youth national teams of Austria. As part of the national team until the age of 19, he took part in the matches of the qualifying round for the European Championship 2011 [9] [10] .

Personal life

Stefan’s father, Leo Liner , was also a footballer, won the Austrian championship eight times, and currently works at Red Bull Scout.
