Baron Landsboro of Landsboro in East Yorkshire is a hereditary title in the United Kingdom Peerage system . It was created on March 4, 1850 for the British diplomat and Whig politician , Lord Albert Denison (1805–1860). He was the third son of Henry Coningham, 1st Marquis of Konigham (1766–1832), and his wife Elizabeth Denison (1769–1861). Born as Albert Denison Coningham, he adopted the surname Denison instead of Coningham in 1849 to inherit the great fortune of his maternal uncle, banker and politician William Joseph Denison (1770–1849). Earlier, Albert Denison represented Canterbury (1835–1841, 1847–1850) in the House of Commons of Great Britain . His eldest son, William Henry Forester Denison, 2nd Baron Landsboro (1834–1900), a liberal politician, was a member of parliament for Beverly (1857–1859) and Scarborough (1859–1860). On July 1, 1887, the titles of Viscount Reincliffe from Reincliffe in North Yorkshire and Count Landsborough in Yorkshire were created for him. These titles were the United Kingdom Peru . However, in 1937, after the death of his grandson, Hugo William Cecil Denison, 3rd Earl of Landsboro (1894–1937), the titles of the viscount and earl were interrupted.
The baronian title inherited his second cousin, Ernest William Denison, 6th Baron Landsboro (1876-1963). He was the son of Rear Admiral The Honorable Albert Denison, the second son of the first baron. After his death, this family line died away, and the title passed to his first cousin, Coningham, Charles Denison, 7th Baron Landsboro (1885-1967). He was the only son of Commander The Honorable Coningham Albert Denison, the fourth son of the first baron. After his death, this family line also broke off. He was succeeded by his cousin, John Albert Lister Denison, 8th Baron Landsborough (1901-1968). He was the only son of the Honorable Harold Albert Denison, the fifth son of the first baron.
As of 2013, the bearer of the baronial title was his only son, Richard John Denison, 9th Baron Landsboro (born 1959), who succeeded his father in 1968 .
