Place, year of birth and name at birth - are unknown. Information about Christopher is very scarce. From his spiritual testament, it is clear that Charnutsky, as a monk, entered the Kiev-Pechersk monastery in 1700 and was soon identified as a teacher in the Kiev-Mohyla College , where he performed the duties of the prefect and taught philosophy and theology from 1706 to 1709. In 1707, Christopher was elevated to the rank of hegumen and appointed rector of the academy. At the same time he was the abbot of the Brotherly Epiphany Monastery . Since 1709, hegumen Christopher was rector of the Nikolaev Deserted Monastery and was a member of the Kiev Spiritual Consistory. During the synodal period, Christopher Charnutsky was known as having found the ancient manuscript of the Cathedral action in the Nicholas monastery on the heretic Armenin, on Martin’s monk , together with other priests he signed his name testifying that they had found a real ancient document of the Cathedral act [1] . Later it turned out that the ancient document was not found, but was falsified.
