Suchen ( Chinese р 城 п , pinyin : Sùchéng ) is a district of the city subordination of the Suqian urban district of Jiangsu province ( PRC ). The name of the district means “city of Su” and is due to the fact that it was in these places that the main urbanized zone was located.

History
After the formation of the first centralized state in the history of China - the Qin empire - these lands were included in the Xiangxiang County (下相 县). Under the Eastern Jin Empire, in 405, Suyui County (宿 预 县) was formed in the southeastern part of Xiaxiang County. In 550, the Xiayang County was disbanded, and its lands became part of the Suyui County. During the time of the Tang empire, when Emperor Dai-zong ascended the throne, whose personal name was “Li Yu”, due to the practice of taboo on the names the character “yu” in the county name was replaced by the character “qian” - this is how it appeared Suqian County (宿迁 县).
In 1949, Huaiyin Special District (淮阴 专区) was established, and the county became part of it. In 1970, Huaiyin Special District was renamed Huaiyin County (淮阴 地区). In 1983, Huaiyin County was transformed into Huaiyin City District .
On December 5, 1987, Suqian County was transformed into a city county.
On July 19, 1996, by the decision of the State Council of the People's Republic of China, the Suqian City District was allocated from the Huaiyin City District; At the same time, Suqian city district was divided into Suecheng district and Suuy county.
