Gaynor Rowlands ( English Gaynor Rowlands ; April 3, 1883 - July 18, 1906) - British singer , actress and dancer . In Wales, earned the nickname "Nightingale of Wales" (Eos Gwalia).

Biography
Born in London in a Welsh family. She began her career in the ballet of The Empire Theater, London under the pseudonym Miss Kathy Lanner, and played there until 1900 [1] . In the same year, she joined the choir of the Gaiety Theater, London under the direction of George Edwards and 1901-1902 traveled to India [2] , which brought her fame. At one time, she became the most recognizable actress from the number of " Funny girls " her images were replicated on countless postcards . She was featured in publications such as The Era , The Stage , Illustrated Sporting and Dramatic News and The Play Pictorial , and in 1906 she played in the scenes of the musical comedy The Funny Chicken ( Eng. The Spring Chicken ) [3] [4] .
She died of a heart attack at the age of 23 years after an operation to remove appendicitis . She was buried in the cemetery in Finchley , in north London .
Poet and prose writer Gilbert Frankau called his friendship with Rowlands Platonic and described it in his book Self Portrait: A novel from his own life ( Eng. Self Portrait: A Novel of His Own Life ) [5] .
