Platinum selenide forms monoclinic syngony crystals, space group P 2 1 / c , cell parameters a = 0.65806 nm , b = 0.46248 nm , c = 1.1115 nm , β = 78.40 ° [2] [3] .
The compound melts at a temperature of 1055 ° C.
The compound has a wide homogeneity region of PtSe 0.70 ÷ PtSe 0.85 and the formula Pt 5 Se 4 is attributed to it [4] .
