Biography
Franz Seraf Detouch was born on January 21, 1772 in the city of Munich. He studied music under Joseph Haydn and Theodor Grunberger
He played the cello in the orchestra of Prince Esterhazy , then, as a pianist, made several concert tours in Austria and Switzerland .
From 1811 to 1814 he taught the city of Landshut musical disciplines at a local university .
In addition to masses, very famous in Germany, Detouch wrote: the operas Die Thomas Nacht (1792) and Missverständniss; choirs for the drama Die Hussiten von Naumburg; overtures to the Messina Bride, Orleans Maiden and friend, as well as concerts for various instruments; piano sonatas; variations and other instrumental compositions [3] .
In 1842, Franz Seraf von Detouch returned to his hometown, where he lived until his death on December 9, 1844 in his hometown.
Among his famous students was, in particular, Johann Gotlob Töpfer [4] .
