Biography
Ingilab Ismailov was born on February 24, 1962 in the village of Khojaly of the NKAO of the Azerbaijan SSR . In 1979 he graduated from high school and two years later he was drafted into the army. He graduated from the Kharkov school of ensigns. In 1984, he returned to Khojaly, where he worked as a tractor driver on a state farm [2] [3] .
In 1990, he got a job at the Khojaly police station. During the years of the Karabakh war, Armenian military units captured Khojaly (see article “ Khojaly massacre ”). Ismailov managed to get some civilians out of the city. Ingilab Ismailov placed his family in the Oguz district , and he returned to the front [3] . Ingilab continued his service at the Agdam police station. Ismailov’s detachment defended the nearby height of Dashbashi [2] .
On June 12, 1992, the height of Dashbashi was attacked by Armenian forces, but kept by Ismailov’s detachment. During the battle, Ingilab Ismailov himself died [2] [3] .
At the time of his death he was married. There are two children left [2] .
By decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan No. 264 dated October 8, 1992, Ingilab Ismailov was posthumously awarded the title of National Hero of Azerbaijan [2] .
One of the streets of Baku is named after Ismailov. On the facade of one of the houses along the street, a memorial plaque of Ismailov [2] [3] was installed.
