History

The village of Novinka is mentioned on the map of Novgorod governorship of 1792 by A. M. Wilbrecht [2] .

The village of Novinka is indicated on a special map of the western part of Russia by F. F. Schubert of 1844 [3] .

BIG NOVELTY (ZESHEVO, NOVELTY) - the village of Novinsky society, the parish of the village of Butkovo.
Peasant households - 39. Buildings - 115, including residential - 49. Small shop.
The number of inhabitants according to the family lists of 1879: 82 m. P.; according to the parish records of 1879: 96 m. p. [4]

The compilation of the Central Statistical Committee described it like this:

BIG NOVELTY - the former owner's village on the Sharya River, 38 yards, 179 residents; chapel, shop. (1885 year) [5]

At the end of the 19th century, the village administratively belonged to the Nedashetsky volost of the 1st camp, at the beginning of the 20th century - to the Nedashetsky volost of the 4th camp of the 3rd zemsky section of the Tikhvin district of the Novgorod province .

According to the map of the Petrograd and Novgorod provinces of 1915, the village of Zmeeva Novinka numbered 24 peasant households [7] .

From 1917 to 1928 the village of Zmeeva Novinka was part of the Nedashetsky volost of the Tikhvin district of the Novgorod province.

Since 1918, as part of the Cherepovets province .

Since 1927, as part of the Lashinsky Village Council of the Budogoshchensky District .

Since 1928, as part of the Krestetsky Village Council. In 1928, the population of the village of Zmeeva Novinka was 175 people.

Since 1932, as part of the Kirishi district [8] .

According to 1933, the village was called Zmeevo Novinka and was part of the Krestetsky village council of the Kirishi district [9] .

Since 1963, as part of the Volkhov district.

Since 1965, again as part of the Kirishi district. In 1965, the population of the village of Zmeeva Novinka was 84 people [8] .

In 1997, 19 people lived in the village of Zmeeva Novinka, Budogoshsky volost, in 2002 - 15 (Russians - 93%) [13] [14] .

In 2007, 14 people lived in the village of Zmeeva Novinka of the Budogoshch state enterprise , in 2010 - 11 [15] [16] .

Geography

The village is located in the southeastern part of the district on the highway 41K-569 (entrance to the village of Zmeeva Novinka), north of the highway 41K-115 ( Kirishi - Budogoshch - Smolino ).

The distance to the administrative center of the settlement is 18 km [15] .

The distance to the nearest railway station Budogoshch is 17 km [10] .

The village is located on the right bank of the Sharya River.
