Mariska Aldrich ( born Mariska Aldrich ; March 27, 1881 - September 28, 1965) is an American opera singer ( dramatic soprano ) and actress [1] .

Biography
Born under the name Marishka Horwart in Boston , Massachusetts [1] . She was a student of Alfred Giradet (1906-1909) and George Henschel [1] . In 1908 she made her debut at the Manhattan Center , playing the role of Page in the opera Huguenots [1] . She continued to sing in the troupe of the Manhattan Center from 1909 to 1913 [1] . In 1910-1911 she sang in the Metropolitan Opera , where she played the role of Azuchene in the opera Troubadour , Fricky in the opera Gold of the Rhine , Lola in the opera Rural Honor , Naola in the opera of Frederick Converse 's Lolan, or The Tube of Desire "And Venus in the opera Tannhäuser . During a tour of Europe, her vocal voice changed from contralto to dramatic soprano [1] . In 1914, she played the role of Brunhilda in Bayreuth [1] . On April 18, 1901, she married Jay Frank Aldrich [1] . She died in 1965 [2] .
