Biography

Burkitbay Ayagan was born on November 20, 1954 in the village of Aktas of the Esil district of North Kazakhstan region . In 1979 he graduated from the Faculty of History of ASU. Abaya . In 1979-1990, a teacher, associate professor of KazPI (ASU). From 1990–1996, he was a consultant to the press service, the head of the sector, the deputy head of the internal policy department of the Presidential Administration and the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Kazakhstan . In 1996-1998, director of the Center for External Relations of the Kazakh Law University , head of the Almaty city information management. In 2003—2009, the President of CJSC “ Kazakh Encyclopedias ”. Since 2008, Director of the Institute of State History of the Science Committee of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

He prepared textbooks on Kazakh history , sociology and political science for secondary schools and higher educational institutions. Author of monographs: "The State of Kazakhstan: the evolution of social systems" (1993), "The apogee and decline of Soviet socialism", "Materials of the October Revolution and the Civil War in the Hoover Archives of the USA (1917)" and others. Under his leadership, the encyclopedic publication “ Kazakhstan. National Encyclopedia . Ayagan proposed a number of new methodological concepts in covering the history of the civilization of the nomads of Eurasia, the Golden Horde; the process of establishing, strengthening and disintegration of the Soviet power in Kazakhstan, forced emigration of the Kazakhs abroad. Specialist in the field of modern history of Kazakhstan: political transformations, the evolution of the social structure of society, the activities of political parties and movements, changes in the demographic structure of the population. He participated in scientific symposia in Japan, the USA, Turkey, Russia, Germany and Malaysia.
