Baron Trevor is an aristocratic title, created three times in British history ( 1662 - Peer of Ireland , 1712 - Peer of Great Britain and 1880 - Peer of the United Kingdom ).
History
For the first time, the title of Baron Trevor was created on August 28, 1662 in the Peerst of Ireland, together with the title of Viscount Dungannon. The first title holder was Marcus Trevor, 1st Viscount Dungannon (1618-1670), who, together with the Viscountry, received the title of Baron Trevor from Rostrevor. In 1706, after the death of Marcus Trevor, 3rd Viscount Dungannon (1669-1706), the titles of Viscount Dungannon and Baron Trevor were interrupted.
On January 1, 1712, the baronial title was re-revived in the British Pearstry for the attorney Sir Thomas Trevor (1658-1730), the future Lord Keeper of the Small Press (1726-1730) and Lord Chairman of the Council (1730). In 1776, Robert Hampden-Trevor, 4th Baron Trevor (1706-1783), received the title of Viscount Hampden. In 1824, after the death of John Hampden-Trevor, 3rd Viscount Hampden and 6th Baron Trevor (1749-1824), both titles also faded.
On May 5, 1880, the title of Baron Trevor ( Peerstvo of the United Kingdom ) was restored for the third time to Lord Edwin Hill (1819–1894), the third son of Arthur Hill, 3rd Marquis Downshire (1788–1845). Edwin Hill sat in the House of Commons of Great Britain from Down (1845-1880). In 1862, Edwin Hill inherited the estates of his late relative Arthur Hill-Trevor, 3rd Viscount Dungannon (1798-1862), receiving royal permission for the additional name "Trevor". In 1880, the title of Baron Trevor of Brynkinalt in Denbyshire was created for Arthur Edwin Hill-Trevor. His successor was his son, Arthur William Hill-Trevor, 2nd Baron Trevor (1852–1923), Deputy Lieutenant of Denbyshire . After his death in 1923, the title passed to his half-brother, Charles Edward Hill-Trevor, 3rd Baron Trevor (1863-1950).
As of 2014, the title holder was the grandson of the latter, Mark Charles Hill-Trevor, 5th Baron Trevor (born 1970 ), who became his father's successor in 1997 .
