Mighty final fight

Mighty Final Fight (Japanese マ イ テ ィ フ ァ イ ナ ル フ ァ イ トMAITIFAINARUFAITO ) is a Capcom beat 'em up game in the genre. It is based on the game Final Fight (year of release: 1989 ) from the same company for slot machines, but in fact it is a parody of the original version, and not its port . The entourage, taken from the original, is substantially redrawn, and some locations are drawn specifically for the NES version. The game's comedic consists in applying the style of deforming the image of the bodies of heroes and their opponents: the heads of the heroes are significantly increased in size, the bodies are painted in a "childish" manner, which is similar to the chibi style of Japanese animation. All 3 heroes, as well as their opponents from the original game, are present in the remake . The plot of the game with slight differences is also taken from the original.

Story

The action takes place in the fictional city of Metro City (Metro City), which for many years has a reputation as a criminal capital. Jessica, daughter of Mayor Mike Haggar , is abducted by the Mad Gear gang (Crazy Gear). Haggar, a former professional wrestler , decides to rescue his daughter from captivity on his own. Cody Travers, Jessica's boyfriend, and Guy, Haggar's friend, volunteered to help Haggar. In the original version, Mad Gear abducts Jessica to manipulate the new mayor, but in the NES version, the gang leader, cyborg Belger, inflamed her love and wants to get married, which corresponds to the parody of the game.

Gameplay

The game is made in the best traditions of the genre. Enemies have health bars to track their condition. The main innovation is that the fighters gain experience and gain new levels. "Cutting down" opponents with a specific hit / throw brings a different number of points. So, if you “cut down” the enemy with the last blow of the series, you get 4 points; throw - also 4 points; a series of strokes (to be completed) with the capture of the enemy (with a knee for Cody and Guy and a head for Haggar) - 6 points; a simple hit - 2 points; Superblow (when using, a certain number of our character’s lives is taken) - 2 points; dropping into the ditch - 1 point. Haggar has a special trick - a jump with the capture of the enemy and then lowering his head to the ground (in wrestling this trick is called a "pile") - for him Haggar gets 8 points. This technique takes a lot of lives, which is especially true when battling with “ bosses ” of levels, and also allows Haggar to gain experience faster than other characters (this is also facilitated by 2 bonus experience levels at the beginning of the game by Haggar). Upon receiving a certain number of experience points, the hero receives a new level, and the counter is reset to zero. As the level rises, the maximum amount of life and the damage done increase.

In addition to all of the above techniques, each of the characters has its own special attack. Cody - “Tornado Sweep” (energy wave), Guy - “Tornado Kick” (kick from the turn), Haggar - “Scramble Haggar Press” (quick attack on the enemy) [1] .

Heroes vary quite significantly in style as well as in speed of movement.

Main characters

Protagonists

  • Cody Travers ( eng. Cody Travers ) - Also present in the game Street Fighter: Alpha 3 - blonde guy. He loves street fights, his favorite weapon is a knife . He has a serious relationship with Jessica. Technically, Cody is the middle ground: medium speed, medium technique and power. Upon receiving the 4th level of experience, Cody discovers the ability to release energy in the form of a wave in front of him at a fairly large distance. At the 6th level, the hero learns to control energy, which makes it possible to carry out a controlled "energy" uppercut (initially the standard series ends with this blow).
  • Guy ( Eng. Guy ) - Also present in the game Street Fighter: Alpha 3 - a dark-haired ninja , a friend of Haggar. Adherent of traditional martial arts, favorite weapon is shuriken . He is the fastest and most technical character of all three, but does minor damage and has a small initial health reserve. At new levels of experience, Guy masters, respectively, the techniques of a double “fiery” kick from a turn and an improved fire kick with a flip back, which, as in the case of Cody, is a variation of the standard final kick of the series. Both strokes are extremely convenient to use, since they take a minimal amount of time.
  • Mike Haggar - Also present in the game Slammasters , Final Fight 2 and Final Fight 3 - former professional reseller and mayor of Metro City. It was his daughter who was abducted by villains. The most powerful fighter from the Trinity - does maximum damage, but is rather slow. A special ability is a sharp attack on the enemy with his whole body. Favorite weapon - sledgehammer .

Level Bosses

  • Thrasher ( Eng. Damnd in the original Final Fight ) - was directly involved in the abduction of Jessica Haggar. It attacks with a series of blows to the head, laughs at the enemy with a successful attack. If a player manages to confuse Thrasher during a preliminary dialogue, he will lose part of his life.
  • Katana ( Eng. Sodom in the original Final Fight ) - Dressed in the armor of ancient samurai , armed with katana swords, which attack from the start.
  • Abigail ( Eng. Abigail ) - the battle with him takes place in the ring. It attacks with punch, has a parody attack of “kiss” followed by a throw. Counterattack attempts to attack from the air.
  • Muramasa ( Eng. Muramasa ) - an order of magnitude faster than his brother Sodom. Being pretty battered, he throws his swords and begins to rush around at the wild speed on the screen.
  • Cyborg Belger is the final boss of the game. At first, he will try to attack with his manipulator , but then he changes tactics: he starts firing at the player with reactive gloves, running from one side of the screen to the other. When a player wins, Belger explodes.
