Skvortsov, Vladimir Stepanovich

Vladimir Stepanovich Skvortsov (born March 25, 1954 , village Klimovshchina , Novgorod Region ) - poet, translator, public figure; editor of the literary magazine "Nevsky Almanac" . President of the Nonprofit Partnership for Writers Support "Native Open spaces" .

Biography and creative activities

After graduating from the Theological High School, he worked at the Sawmill and Furniture Plant in Pestovo . From 1972 to 1974 he served in the Soviet Army . In 1980 he graduated from the Faculty of Journalism of Leningrad State University . After graduation, he worked in Vyborg as editor of the Vyborg broadcasting editorial office. From 1985 to 1988, Vladimir Skvortsov was the director of the preparatory courses at Leningrad State University.

The first publications appeared in 1972 on the All-Union Radio and in the regional newspaper. He was published in newspapers, in the magazines "Soviet Warrior" , "Aurora" , "Crocodile" , the world " ," New Century "and others.

Since 1984 - a member of the Union of Journalists of Russia , since 1994 - a member of the Union of Writers of Russia , since 2015 - a member of the Union of Writers of St. Petersburg. Since 2005, Vladimir Skvortsov became a member of the Board of the St. Petersburg branch of the Union of Writers of Russia. Since 2006 - Member of the Board of St. Petersburg branch of the Literary Fund of Russia. In 2009, Vladimir Skvortsov was elected a full member (academician) of the Petrovsky Academy of Sciences and Arts .

The author of thirteen books. More than forty songs have been written to the verses of Vladimir Skvortsov.

In 2003, Vladimir Skvortsov initiated the revival of the magazine " Nevsky Almanac ", which was published from 1825 to 1915. Currently, the magazine is published monthly, with a circulation of 3,500 copies. The editorial staff of the magazine hosts creative evenings, book presentations, lectures and round tables. Together with the administration of the Kirov Central Public Pedagogical University named after S. Kirov, the journal and the NPL “Rodnye Vastory” hold a large All-Russian literary and music festival-competition “Elagin Island - a flower in the buttonhole of St. Petersburg”.
