It is one of the oldest boarding schools in the country [2] .

In 1944, by decision of the Executive Committee of the Peter and Paul Council No. 17 of September 1, 1944, a school for deaf-mute children was opened for grade 1, consisting of 10 students. By 1948, the number of students increased to 30. Until 1950, the Peter and Paul School for deaf-mute children existed as a primary, and in 1951 grade 5 was opened, the contingent increased to 70 pupils. Since 1952, the school was considered incomplete secondary. Such items as arithmetic, Russian, literature, geography, natural sciences, history, drawing, physical education, carpentry, sewing, were added to the staff list. In 1953, the Decree of the Ministry of Education of the Kazakh SSR approved the staff of the administrative, technical and educational personnel of orphanages and boarding schools for deaf children. The following units were introduced into the staff of the school: the head of the circle work, the senior pioneer leader, a nurse, a supply manager, a nanny, a dressmaker. Since 1959, in accordance with the decree of the Council of Ministers of the RSFSR “On the duration of education in comprehensive schools for blind, visually impaired, hearing impaired and deaf and dumb” children, the duration of education of these students was changed. In schools for the deaf and in the 2nd department of schools for the hearing impaired, a 12-year period of study is established, during which students were provided with incomplete secondary education in the amount of an 8-year public school. In 1967, the boarding school received a new standard building with 120 seats with a total area of ​​3365.5 m² with all necessary equipment. In 1969, the first auxiliary class at the school was opened.

In 1989, by order of the Ministry of Education of the USSR, the school received the right to give deaf children a full secondary education [3] .

In 2014, the school was awarded the honorary title “State Enterprise of the Year 2014” based on the results of national ratings of the Republic of Kazakhstan [4] .

Material and technical base

The following areas are located on the land plots of the boarding school: the main building, a sports and sports complex, where a zone for outdoor games is provided ( soccer field , volleyball, basketball courts), a treadmill, a pit for jumping, a playground with equipment and sports equipment, there is a separate, fenced, playground with asphalt for outdoor games for young children, artificial slide for skiing. For the preschool group of pupils, a group playground with modern equipment, a gazebo with a shade canopy is equipped, the equipment corresponds to the growth and age of the children. In the economic zone of the territory are located: vegetable storehouse, warehouse, garages, bathhouse, laundry. Laundry is located in a separate building, washing machines are provided. For washing children in a separate building, in the adapted courtyard, there is a bathhouse for 10 washing places.

In total, the boarding school has 140 rooms, 32 of which are study rooms, including 3 workshops (carpentry, sewing, culinary), 2 teaching rooms, 16 bedrooms, fully equipped with hard and soft equipment. They have their own sports and gym facilities.

All classes are equipped with sound-amplifying equipment for collective use "Sonet-01", sets of sound-amplifying equipment "Solo" for individual speech therapy work, individual hearing aids. The computer science cabinet is equipped with computers, an interactive whiteboard . There are 5 interactive whiteboards.

An office for self-knowledge, a multimedia office for the Russian language with an interactive whiteboard is equipped, personal computers are installed in the office of the Kazakh language. There are interactive whiteboards in the classrooms of chemistry, geography, physics, history.

In the boarding school, optimal conditions have been created for organizing the educational process and children's leisure in the afternoon. The boarding school is equipped with premises for household, sanitary-hygienic, cultural and leisure, sports and fitness purposes.

Created conditions for living and recreation of students. The occupancy of bedrooms, the requirements for gender and age difference are met, each pupil has a bed, bedside table corresponding to his age. And also, in each bedroom there are bedside rugs, in recreations - corners of rest. The presence of a set of bedding is normal, marked. Each room has a TV, table and chairs for the play and creative activities of students. Created conditions for the storage of personal hygiene items. There is a personal hygiene room for girls, ironing boards and a washing machine are available. A medical office, a treatment room, a vaccination room, an isolator with a separate entrance and exit, and a bathroom are allocated in the medical block.

The catering unit includes a dining room, a brewhouse, a washing department, and storage facilities. Refrigeration and technological equipment in working condition. Cutting equipment is equipped and marked. Kitchen, dining and tea utensils are provided (3 sets of table and tea utensils for 1 child). The dining room is designed for 80 seats, meals are free, four meals a day, for children of preschool groups - five meals a day [6] .

Organization of the educational process

The teachers of the boarding school compiled the only thematic planning in Kazakhstan that meets the special educational needs of students with hearing impairments, including those with cochlear implants . This Thematic Planning allows children with hearing impairments to receive a general secondary education as close as possible to the requirements of the State Compulsory Standard. Adapted Thematic Planning presupposes the preservation of the general education standards applicable within the framework of the secondary general education system of the Republic of Kazakhstan, subject to a partial reduction in the curriculum and a lower level of requirements for students' academic achievement [7] .

The boarding school is equipped with:

  • preschool groups for children from 3 to 6 years old;
  • preparatory class;
  • classes for deaf children;
  • classes for hearing impaired children;
  • classes for the hearing impaired and children with cochlear implants ;
  • classes for children with combined-complex disorders (with a complex defect structure);
  • class according to the program ZPR .

Classes are held in classrooms that meet the requirements of the school for children with hearing impairments.

The boarding school works on a five-day working week in preschool groups - and a six-day working week in grades 0-12. Classes are held in one shift and begin at 8 hours and 15 minutes. The duration of the lesson is 45 minutes, the changes are 5 and 10 minutes, the big change is 15 minutes after the third lesson. To ensure a health-saving, sparingly-protective regime at the lessons and classes, teachers and educators organize five-minute dynamic pauses.

In the afternoon, individual correctional classes, homework, extra-curricular activities, study groups, cultural, sports and recreational activities are held. As part of the implementation of the Program for the Development of Inclusive Education in the Republic of Kazakhstan, many events are held together with hearing peers [8] [9] .
