Stakhiy, Amplius and Urban

Urvan (Urban) - an apostle of 70 , an associate of the Apostle Paul ( Rom. 16: 9 ), bishop of Macedonia .

Amplius and Urban accompanied the Apostle Paul on his missionary journey through the countries of the Balkan Peninsula ; therefore, their bishopric in the cities of this peninsula, located on the Black Sea and in the Danube Delta , seems quite possible. With the blessing of the Holy Apostle Andrew the First-Called , who ordained him to the rank of bishop.

For the preaching of the gospel and the destruction of idol's temples, he was martyred by Jews and Hellenic pagans.

According to the Basil’s Month, the relics of Urvan, along with the relics of Amplia and Stakhia, were brought to Constantinople and laid in Pigy ( Greek .ηγαϊς - at the sources).
