Appearance
Originally intended to name the television series Fighting the Tigers, Daddy’s Army was partly coined by co-author and creator Jimmy Perry based on experience with the militia. Perry was only 17 years old when he joined the tenth battalion of Hertfordshire . Mother did not like that he went out at night and was afraid that he might catch a cold; he partially resembled the character of Private Pike [1] .
