Biography

Born on March 14, 1847 in the village of Sefer of the Kosovo province of the Ottoman Empire (in the Skopska-Crna-Gora mountain range), now the city of Presevo in southern Serbia.

At an early age he joined the Albanian national movement, becoming a member of the Prizren League and the Peugeot League. At this time, he committed, together with members of the League, criminal acts against the population of the city of Kichevo . [1] Tried to establish relations with other Albanian leaders with the Serbian government, which helped the rebels with money and weapons.

In early 1910, the twelve Albanian vilayets of Kosovo , where Idriz Seferi and Isa Boletini were prominent leaders, rebelled against the Ottoman Empire. Under the leadership of Seferi, there was a detachment of about 5,000 people, which was armed with a captured Turkish train with weapons. Under the leadership of Boletini, there were about 2,000 people under Uroshevac and Prizren . Despite fierce resistance, the uprising was crushed by superior forces of the Ottoman forces of 16,000 under the command of . The Ottoman government took tough measures to maintain power in Kosovo Vilayet. [2]

In April 1912, an Albanian uprising broke out again under the leadership of Hassan Pristin in the Djakovitsa Mountains, which was joined by other leaders, including Seferi and Boletini. Resistance was larger than in 1910, becoming nationwide, while establishing friendly relations with Serbia. Regular Ottoman units were again directed against the rebels, not without difficulty suppressing the resistance. After this uprising, Seferi and Boletini under the influence of Turkey became enemies of Serbia and fought against them at the initial stage of the First World War (1914-1915). In the second half of the war (1916-1918), they fought against the Bulgarian troops.

He died in his house on March 25, 1927 . He was posthumously awarded the state award .
