Relations between Greece and the Republic of Northern Macedonia - Bilateral relations between Greece and Northern Macedonia . Diplomatic relations were established in 1992 . At the same time, it was agreed by the parties that the new name of this former Yugoslav republic will be agreed under the auspices of the UN. Greece is a member of NATO and the European Union , and the Republic of Macedonia was an official candidate for membership in these international organizations. The length of the state border between the countries is 234 km [1] .

History
In 2008, at the NATO summit in Bucharest, Greece prevented the Republic of Macedonia from joining NATO , citing the unresolved problem of naming the state , to which the Republic of Macedonia responded with a lawsuit to the International Court of Justice in The Hague , at the economic level, the dispute has almost no effect on relations between the countries. Greek companies have invested more in the Republic of Macedonia than in any other country, being the main investor in the Republic of Macedonia. Only in Skopje they created about 5,000 jobs [2] . After the signing of the Prespan Agreement, the official name of Greece’s northern neighbor is Northern Macedonia , which contributes to the development of Greco- North Macedonian relations.
