Description
Small, short-winged beetles , body length about 2.9 - 3.0 mm. The main color is dark brown and black (elytra lighter). Most adults of this species were found in the ground layer. Adults were collected from May to June. The species was first described in 2012, and its valid status was confirmed in 2016 by Canadian entomologists Jan Klimaszewski ( Jan Klimaszewski ; Laurentian Forestry Center, Ontario , Canada ) and Reginald Webster ( Reginald P. Webster ). The species name was given due to the similarity with the species Philhygra larsoni [1] [2] [3] .
