Mitsubishi Orion Engine

Mitsubishi 4G1 or Orion engines are in-line four-cylinder engines manufactured by Mitsubishi Motors since 1970, in conjunction with Astron , Sirius , and Saturn engines. It was first installed on Colt in 1978. The engine capacity of the series is from 1.2 to 1.6 liters.

4G11

A 4G11 engine with a volume of 1.2 liters (1244 cc) with a cylinder diameter and a piston stroke of 69.5 mm x 82.0 mm.

The engine was installed on:

4G12

A 4G12 engine with a volume of 1.4 liters (1410 cc) with a cylinder diameter and a piston stroke of 74.0 mm x 82.0 mm. 4G12 was the first to receive Mitsubishi MD technology (modulated volume), which allows to reduce cylinder volume and save fuel.

4G13

The 4G13 engine with a volume of 1.3 liters (1298 cc) is a single - camshaft 12-valve engine with a power of 73 hp, with a cylinder diameter and a piston stroke of 71.0 mm x 82.0 mm. In the Gulf countries, a power of 90 hp was achieved. at 6000 rpm [one]

4G15

Single - camshaft 4G15 engine with a volume of 1.5 liters (1468 cc) with a cylinder diameter and a piston stroke of 75.5 mm x 82.0 mm. The 4G15 version was made with a gasoline multi-injection. On the 1993 Mirage, engine power was 92 hp. (69 kW). DOHC 4G15 gave 110 hp and 137 Nm of torque. Other DOHC versions combined a GDI injector and delivered 100 hp. and 137 Nm of torque. There was also a very rare DOHC 16-valve variant of 110 hp. at 6000 rpm The DOHC MIVEC turbo engine, currently in production (4G15T), and mounted on the Mitsubishi Colt , delivers 163 hp. (122 kW) on the latest Colt Version-R. The most powerful version of this engine was installed on the Brabus Smart Forfour , with a total capacity of 177 hp. 4G15 is known as one of the long-lived Japanese engines, in addition, on one of the Mirage sedans in 1998 a mileage of 997 thousand miles (1.6 million km) was recorded.

4G16

The 4G16 engine has a volume of 1.2 liters (1198 cc), a cylinder diameter and a piston stroke of 68.2 mm x 82.0 mm. This engine was available mainly in European markets, where it came under local taxation rules.

The engine was installed on the Mitsubishi Colt / Mirage and Mitsubishi Lancer .

4G17

The 4G17 engine has a capacity of 1.3 liters (1343 cc). This is a SOHC 12-valve engine. The cylinder diameter and piston stroke are 72.2 mm x 82.0 mm. Power carburetor engine 78 hp (57 kW) at 6000 rpm, a torque of 107 Nm at 3500 rpm. [2]

The engine has been installed since 1991 on the Mitsubishi Colt T120SS (Indonesia).

4G18

Single - camshaft 4G18 engine with a volume of 1.6 liters (1584 cc) with a cylinder diameter and a piston stroke of 76.0 mm x 87.3 mm. Injection engine with four valves per cylinder. Engine power 105 hp at 6000 rpm (Middle Eastern model), 122 hp at 6000 rpm (Persian version), [1] 98 hp and 150 Nm of torque (European version). The engine uses a COP system (Coil-On-Plug, also known as a Plug-top coil ).

4G19

The 1.3 liter liter 4G19 DOHC MIVEC engine has four valves per cylinder. Engine power 90 hp (66 kW) at 5600 rpm and a torque of 121 Nm at 4250 rpm. It has been produced since 2002, installed on the new Mitsubishi Colt of the time.
