Victor Ivanovich Galochkin (1925-1943) - Hero of the Soviet Union , sergeant, Komsomolets, senior intelligence officer of the 285th mortar regiment of the 5th Guards Mechanized Corps .

Biography
Born March 16, 1925 in the city of Orekhovo-Zuevo , in a family of hereditary textile workers.
In 1940 he graduated from the seven classes of school No. 3 and enrolled in a vocational school, which he graduated with honors in 1943 with a degree in mechanics .
In February 1943 he was drafted into the Red Army , on August 10, 1943 received the military rank of sergeant.
During the battles for the liberation of Ukraine, he accomplished a feat and died in the area of the city of Kamenka, Cherkasy region, covering with his body a hand grenade thrown by the enemy, thereby saving the life of a company commander and several reconnaissance soldiers. Here he was erected a monument to his full height, a street was named after V. Galochkin.
He was buried in the Heroes Square of the city of Znamenka, Kirovohrad region of Ukraine .
The title of Hero of the Soviet Union was awarded posthumously by decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR.
In the city of Orekhovo-Zuevo named after the Hero of the Soviet Union V.I. Galochkina named street, in front of the school building number 22 a bust is installed.
