History
Kulevchi village is the center of the Kulevchinsky village council. Located in the southeastern part of the district, on the banks of the Karataly-Ayat river . The relief is plain. The landscape is a feather-grass-motley steppe with birch-aspen coastal thickets. The distance to the district center is 40 km. The population of 1279 people. The village was founded in 1842 as a military settlement of the Orenburg Cossack army in the new-linear area. The name is given for the Bulgarian village, near which the Russian army defeated the Turkish army on June 11, 1829.
By the end of the 1880s, a school and a church were built. There were 3 water mills and 6 windmills. Fairs were held annually on January 30 and September 27. Residents kept cattle, horses. In 1903-1905 a church was built; in 1976 destroyed.

The Karatalyayat River flows through the village. The distance to the district center, the village of Varna , 40 km.

Memorable places
A monument has been unveiled at the school to commemorate the 100th birthday of the writer A. I. Zavalishin .
In the center of the village there is a monument to those who fell in the Great Patriotic War.

According to the All-Russian Census , in 2010 the population of the village was 1,127 people (538 men and 589 women).
Famous residents
Kulevchi is the birthplace of playwright A.I. Zavalishin .
