Tsintaosaurini

Tsintaosaurini (lat.) Is a tribe of herbivorous dinosaurs from the subfamily of the lambeosaurins of the hadrosaurid family from the Upper Cretaceous era (about 83.6–66.0 million years ago) in Asia and Europe . The tribe was introduced in 2013 by Prieto Marquez and colleagues. Tsintaosaurini are defined as a clade of lambaeosauric hadrosaurids, consisting of Tsintaosaurus spinorhinus and Pararhabdodon isonensis [1] .

Description

Diagnosis: Tsintaosaurini is a lambeosauric hadrosaurid that has a jawbone with a high articular surface for articulation with the zygomatic bone such that the ectopterygoid crest does not come into contact with the articular surface of the zygomatic bone; the jawbone has an acute bend between the zygomatic facet and the ectopterygoid protrusion, resulting from the continuation of the ectopterygoid ridge to the rising edge, which bends dorsocaudally [1] .
