Shemetovsky village council was formed in the first years of Soviet power. By the beginning of 1929, he was part of the Serebryano-Prudsky district of the Tula province .

In 1929, Shemetovsky s / s was assigned to Serebryano-Prudsky district of the Tula district of the Moscow region.

On September 26, 1937, Serebryano-Prudsky District was transferred to the Tula Region , but on December 20, 1942 it was returned to the Moscow Region.

On December 28, 1951, the villages of Boksha and Tolstoy were transferred from Shemetovskiy s / s to Esipovsky .

On January 25, 1952, the Bolshe-Rogato village council was attached to the Shemetovsky s / s.

On June 14, 1954, the Lamonovsky Village Council was attached to the Shemetovskiy s / s.

On February 1, 1963, the Serebryano-Prudsky district was abolished and the Shemetovskiy s / s entered the Stupinsky rural district . January 11, 1965 Shemetovsky s / s was returned to the restored Serebryano-Prudsky district.

On February 3, 1994, the Shemetovsky rural area was transformed into the Shemetovsky rural district .

On August 26, 2002, the village of Dudino and the village of Blagodat were transferred from the administrative subordination of the working village of Serebryanye Prudy to the Shemetovsk agricultural district .

On July 9, 2004, the Petrovsky rural district was attached to the Shemetov s / o [2] .

In the course of the 2004-2005 municipal reform, the Shemetovsky rural district ceased to exist as a municipal unit. At the same time, its settlements were partly transferred to the urban settlement of Silver Ponds , partly to the rural settlement of Mochilskoye , and partly to the rural settlement of Uzunovskoye [3] .

On November 29, 2006, the Shemetovsky rural district was excluded from the accounting data of the administrative-territorial and territorial units of the Moscow region [4] .
