Pharmacological action
Choleretic and other actions of the drug are based on the amount of active substances contained in the extract of flowers of the immortelle sand. Flavonoids enhance the secretion of bile , as well as gastric and pancreatic juices (stimulate the excretory activity of the pancreas ) necessary for digestion. They increase the tone of the gallbladder, thereby increasing the outflow of bile, and also act as a spasmolytic on the smooth muscles of the sphincter of the bile ducts and bladder. At the same time, these substances slow down intestinal motility, which contributes to a better digestion and assimilation of food.
The cumulative effect changes the viscosity and chemical composition of bile [1] , increases the cholera cholesterol coefficient (that is, increases the bilirubin content in it and the release of cholesterol with it [2] ). In addition, flavonoids have the ability to expand blood vessels. In this case, the intestines and other organs of the digestive system.
The antibacterial effect of the drug is directed against gram-positive bacteria - streptococci and staphylococci, rod-shaped bacteria. The antiparasitic effect of sandy immortelle extract is associated with the presence of resin (diterpenic) acids in it.
