Barium dislenide forms monoclinic syngony crystals, space group C c , cell parameters a = 0.9820 nm , b = 0.4929 nm , c = 0.9335 nm , β = 118.48 ° , Z = 4 , barium disulfide type structure BaS 2 [1] [2] [3] .
The compound is formed by a peritectic reaction at a temperature of 870 ° C [1] ( 840 ° C [3] ).
