History
Until 2015, the canton included the communes:
- Biorel
- Bois-Guillaume
- Inoville
As a result of the 2015 reform [1], the composition of the canton was changed. It includes sixteen communes of the abolished canton of Claire .

Policy
In the 2017 presidential election, the residents of the canton in the 1st round gave Francois Fillon 27.3% of the vote against 27.2% of Emmanuel Macron , 17.1% of Marine Le Pen and 15.4% of Jean-Luc Melanshon ; in the 2nd round, Macron won the canton, receiving 72.3% of the vote. (2012 1st round: Nicolas Sarkozy - 34.9%, Francois Hollande - 25.5%, Marine Le Pen - 14.1%; 2nd round: Sarkozy - 55.3%. 2007 1st round: Sarkozy - 36.6%, Segolen Royal - 21.8%; Round 2: Sarkozy - 58.7%).
Since 2015, the canton in the Council of the Seaside Department has been represented by the vice-mayor of the city of Biorel, Nathalie Lecordier ( Miscellaneous Rights ) and the President of the General Council of the department of the Seaside Seine, the former mayor of the city of Monville Pascal Martin ( Union of Democrats and Independents ).
