Ilya ( Belarusian. Ilya , Ukrainian. Ilya ) is the left tributary of Uzh , flowing through the Gomel region of Belarus and the Kiev region of Ukraine . The slope of the river is 0.8 m / km.

Geography
Length - 48 km. The catchment area is 381 km². At the village of Aleksandrovka, the channel is located at an altitude of 147.6 m above sea level, at the village of Lubyanka (near the confluence of the Ilya tributaries) - 118.2 m, in the estuary section - 112.3 m. The river valley is underdeveloped, swampy. The width of the valley is 2 km. Waterlogged floodplain, 400 m wide. Channel up to 5 m wide.
The river originates south of the village of Gabrielevka ( Narovlyansk district , Gomel region ). The river flows from the northwest to the southeast along the Narovlyansky district , Polessky district , Ivankovsky district . In the Polessky district, the Ovruch – Chernihiv railway line is being stopped, east of the Klivina station. It flows into the Uzh river to the north of the disappeared village of Bychki ( Ivankovsky district , Kiev region ).

Nature
In the north of the Polessky district, the vegetation of the forest swamps prevailing in the floodplain of the river are dominant black alder forests, sometimes with willows, where the grass layer is represented by reed and sedge. On the adjacent valley are pine - oak , oak, oak- hornbeam , pine forests. In the south of the Polessky district and in the Ivankovsky district, the floodplain is not swampy and only in places with forests. Between Rudnya-Ilyinetskaya and the estuary there is meadow vegetation, where a system of canals is located in the floodplain of the Uzh River and its mouth tributary. The mouth part is partially boggy.
In the Polessky district, the floodplain and river valley are under the protection of the Ilyinsky Reserve .
