General Information
The first seeded single player tournament was David Nalbandian (No. 11 in the world at that time). The Argentinean in the group stage lost both of his meetings and dropped out of the tournament, taking third place in his group. Last year's champion Carlos Moya was seeded at the tournament under the fifth number, but also could not overcome the group stage, taking second place in his three. Juan Monaco succeeded in knocking out the Spaniard from the tournament, who eventually became the winner of the tournament. For the Argentinean, this title was his debut in his career in the ATP tour. In the final, he outplayed the Italian Alessio di Mauro , for whom this final was the only one in his career in the main competitions of the association. The main draw was attended by one representative of Russia: Igor Andreev , who in the group stage took second place in subgroup No. 4 and dropped out of the tournament.
Local tennis players Martin Garcia and Sebastian Prieto also won the pair competition. For Prieto, this title was the second in local competitions (before that he had won in 2003 together with Mariano Hood ). Last year's winners Leos Friedl and Frantisek Cermak did not defend their title, however, Friedl took part in the tournament together with Michael Kohlmann , but their couple lost in the first round.
